Project Name: The Color of Assumption (:30)
Immigration is under attack and timing couldn’t be more critical. This piece was crafted to meet the moment and expand your reach when people are listening. You’re on the front lines, and this is a fundraising engine built for you.
Please take 30 seconds and review this broadcast-ready spot we’d like to gift to your organization.
Gift:
We believe deeply in the AIC’s mission and the impact you create. This is an original piece with approximately $100K in production value, and we would like to gift it to the AIC for your exclusive use. We’ve only shared it confidentially with select partners, and it has not been released publicly or posted on social media. The script is also registered with the Copyright Office and WGA-West.
Our Purpose:
We wanted to do something meaningful as industry professionals. We are appalled by the racism and xenophobia directed at immigrants of color and by ICE raids that disregard due process. This is a self-funded project by Kevin Kamin, a 3-time Emmy recipient, former brand manager at CBS, and an immigrant of color.
Fundraising:
A record 7 million protesters filled the streets during the No Kings rallies. The message was loud: people are ready to act, but they need a direction. This spot gives them that direction—an immediate, tangible way to support the fight when urgency is highest.
Viral Reach:
We recommend debuting this piece during a high-viewership broadcast event. Moments like these bring politically divided households together, and the opening of this spot will spark very different reactions across the room. But once the reveal lands, it creates a rare moment of shared clarity-something people will feel compelled to talk about.
Releasing the social media version simultaneously allows that energy to spill outward. Viewers can immediately create reaction, stitch, or green-screen videos, amplifying the moment and extending the reach far beyond the broadcast itself.
Terms:
We’ve made this simple. There are no strings attached. We will gift the spot to the first organization that commits to a national media buy, as we believe its impact depends on broad reach.
You'll receive a perpetual license with full platform flexibility: broadcast, OTT, OLV, social, etc. Every component is fully cleared and properly licensed with no restrictions.
Historical Accuracy:
The script is rooted in well-documented historical accounts, and we have supporting source materials for each of the three subjects.
Customization:
We can deliver a custom end plate and voiceover within a few days. Our voice over artist, Patrick Warden—featured in the current cut—is available with no licensing restrictions and at no cost. You’re also welcome to provide your own voice over if preferred.

Thank you for your time, and for the essential work you do!
Kevin Kamin is an Emmy-winning writer-director and marketing professional. As an immigrant of color, he created this project to confront the rising hostility toward immigrant communities and give people a tangible way to stand up.
This project united a group of industry veterans driven to create a message that feels essential in this moment. Among them is composer Kyle Newmaster, whose recent work includes scoring two seasons of CBS’s primetime series Blood and Treasure.
Filming occurred on August 17th, 2025.
The Minneapolis College of Art and Design, a fierce advocate for social justice, donated their sound stage to the project.

CREDITS
We set out to create a piece defined by minimalist elegance—a painterly aesthetic with deep, expressive shadows that added emotional richness while allowing the performances to carry their full weight. Achieving that look and tone demanded exacting craftsmanship.
Roughly 100 hours were spent in post-production shaping color, tone, atmosphere, score, and the edit until everything aligned with the same emotional intention. Below are three breakdowns offering a small window into that process.
Background replacement, rotoscoping, and paint-outs
